Jimma University Ethiopia: Official Website @www.ju.edu.et It is one of the oldest universities in Ethiopia. Jimma University was founded on the amalgamation of the Jimma Institute of Health Science and the Jimma College of Agriculture in the 1980s.

The university has many national and international linkages and collaborations in the area of research, education, and community service. Its innovative educational philosophy, staff commitment, and motivation and availability of better research facilities have helped the university in attracting both national and international partners.

Jimma University (JU) is located in Jimma, Oromia, Ethiopia. Jimma is one of the zones of the Ethiopian Region of Oromia

Fresh Students Registration

Each semester existing students are required to register for classes for the next semester. The registration is held in the respective college office of students’ Affairs.

To register for classes, students should collect three copies of registration slips from the respective department and complete the required information and get them signed by the head of the department/school and submit one copy of the slip to the respective college office of students’ Affairs and one copy to the University office of the registrar.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the regular graduate program: The candidate must have completed the academic requirement for the Bachelor’s degree with:

  • A Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 or higher from any recognized college of higher learning. However, given the availability of spaces admission to the School of Graduate Studies shall be on a competitive basis.

Jimma University has a number of undergraduates, masters, and Ph.D. degree programs. These programs are offered in different disciplines including Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture, Business, Social, and Natural Sciences.
